Cavaliers options. [1ST PICK]

The consensus pick here is Nerlens Noel, if you don’t know about him, he’s a defensive beast, 4.4 blocks per game and a bunch of other cool things (hair) that make him a great number one choice and potential cornerstone for the future. Standing at 6’10” with nearly a 7’4” wingspan, Noel possesses adequate height and plenty of reach. When healthy, he’s a tremendous shot-blocker that uses his athleticism and long arms to send back anything that goes up in his vicinity. Also, Noel isn’t a scrub in other areas, as he has big, quick hands that allow him to get a whole bunch of steals. He’s also a superb rebounder who can use his athleticism to clean the glass with ease.

BUT, his offensive game makes Marcus Camby look like a mix between Hakeem Olajuwon and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. If you can’t play offense in college, you sure as hell won’t be doing any of that scoring jibber-jabber in the NBA.

He also weighs less than Dwyane Wade, who is a solid 6 inches shorter than him. Oh, and he’s lighter than Wade by 14 lbs.

If I’m the Cavs, I’m perhaps a little bit tentative on this pick. The front court for Cleveland is STACKED with bigs whose offense is a product of Kyrie Irving, and who are not scorers in and of themselves. I would certainly consider trading this pick for a player like Kevin Love, who is reportedly unhappy in Minnesota. If I’m Cleveland, I’m looking at Kevin Love or Dwight Howard as the two available players who are 100% worth this deal, anyone else would require a package.

(If you like this post and would like to request a draft report on any prospect then message the blog and I will do my best, otherwise I will pretty much be going through lottery teams when I get the chance. A like and a reblog is much appreciated- thank you for reading)
